Coffee Syrup Marinated Flank Steak

Grilled flank steak marinated with coffee syrup and peppercorns

Serves 4 

Ingredients: 

  • 3 tbsp Morning Glory Old Fashioned Coffee Syrup 
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar 
  • 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil 
  • 1 tbsp packed brown sugar 
  • 2 cloves garlic minced 
  • 1 tsp whole black peppercorns crushed 
  • ½ tsp salt 
  • 1 pound flank steak, trimmed of fat 

Directions: 

  • Whisk Morning Glory coffee syrup, vinegar, oil, sugar, garlic, peppercorns and salt in a glass dish large enough for meat to lie flat.
  • Add steak and turn to coat.  Cover and refrigerate for minimum 1 hour up to 8 hours. 
  • Heat grill to high 
  • Remove steak from marinade (discard marinade).  
  • Lightly oil grill rack to prevent sticking. (see below).
  • Place steak on grill and cook 4‑5 min each side for medium‑rare or to preference.
  • Transfer to steak to cutting board and let rest 5 min.  
  • Slice thinly across the grain and serve. 

*To oil grill rack.  Oil a folded paper towel, hold it with tongs and rub it over rack.  Do not use cooking spray on a hot grill.
